Fighting Fraud, Waste, and Abuse: AGA Fraud ’22

  • Management Concepts was pleased to exhibit at the 2022 AGA Internal Control & Fraud Prevention Training (Fraud 22) September 20-21 at the Ronald Reagan Building International Trade Center in Washington, DC, welcoming an intimate crowd onsite and several hundred additional attendees online.

    As is usual for AGA’s high standards, Fraud 22 boasted well-known keynote speakers, including Rachel Wilson, director of cybersecurity at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, and former head of counterterrorism operations at the National Security Agency (NSA), as well as best-selling author Kurt Eichenwald, an investigative journalist, senior writer, editor, and cable news correspondent.

From Rock to Royalty: Revisiting AGA PDT 2022

  • Management Concepts visited Anaheim, California to exhibit in this year’s AGA Professional Development Training (PDT) from Sunday, July 17 to Tuesday, July 19. We were especially excited for this year as this year’s conference was the first in-person event in two years. Our representatives for this conference met, networked, and attended sessions in person this time around. AGA provided wonderful speakers and breakout sessions relating to ongoing topics and issues about financial management, analytics, and auditing.

An Inspirational 3 Days at AGA PDT 2021

  • Once again, Management Concepts was excited to exhibit at the Association of Government Accountants (AGA) Professional Development Training (PDT), which was held virtually for the second year in a row. Though we weren’t all able to gather in Nashville as planned, AGA’s “Set the Stage” theme was carried throughout the event, with excellent content and engaging speakers that highlighted the new developments and future landscape in the field of government financial management.

Insights and updates from AGA’s 2018 National Leadership Training

  • I recently had the opportunity to represent Management Concepts at the Association of Government Accountants’ National Leadership Training (NLT) event at the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, D.C.  This two-day event is designed to develop and train government financial professionals to excel as leaders.  Featured speakers included Dave DeLong, President, Smart Workforce Strategies and Mark Updegrove, CEO, National Medal of Honor Museum.  The event drew hundreds of CEO’s, CFO’s, senior executives, PhD’s, CPA’s, senior managers, and future leaders from Federal, state, and local organizations across the U.S.

AGA PDT 2017: Top Takeaways from Financial Management Conference

  • Last week in Boston, over one thousand of the nation’s government financial management professionals convened for expert insights and networking (and CPEs) at the Association of Government Accountants (AGA) annual Professional Development Training (PDT) event.

    Topics ranged from pressing issues such as cybersecurity and systems modernization, to always-important skill development in auditing, communication, leadership, and finding resilience and balance in the churn and turmoil of today’s rapidly evolving work environments.

Inspiration and Insight at AGA’s 2017 National Leadership Training Event

  • Last week, on behalf of Management Concepts, a group of colleagues and I attended the National Leadership Training (NLT) event in Washington, D.C., a two-day event organized by the Association of Government Accountants (AGA). Keynote presenters included Chip Fulghum (Deputy Under Secretary of Management, Dept. of Homeland Security), Janice Hamby (Chancellor, National Defense University iCollege), and Jonathan Karl (Chief White House Correspondent, ABC News).
